This episode aired on April 2, 2019. Spoiler Alert!
This episode begins with the dreadful scene when Mil Pung-kun shows up all face bloody at the palace of the King. Prince Lee Geum shows up a minute later to confront him but he seems to have lost it completely as he laughs hysterically. Once he is arrested, Prince Lee Geu is still not at ease, he wants to make sure all loose ends are tied. He even visits Mil Pung-kun to try to get something out of him and he does when he hears what he told his younger brother while killing him.
Prince Lee Geum absolved from any crime is finally free to return to his palace and decides to have a night out with friends. He meets Mun-su and Dal Moon among others. The next day, Prince Lee Geum is chosen by King Kyungjong to govern the country vicariosuly, which basically means governing with the aid of the King as he learns and is ready to be a King by himself. He walks into the throne room and takes a seat in front of the king. He tells the court he is lloking forward to learning from each one of them and proceeds with his first ruling: to replace the personnel in the three justice related agencies. He begins by with replacing the Saheonbu’s chief inspector with Minister Lee, who is totally shocked by the order.
Later that day he meets a very bitter Minister Min who mentions that it was too bad that Mil Pung-kun had been caught that night when he had plenty of time to run away. Lee Geum is immediately curious about the statement and finds out eventually that Lee Tan had two hours of a window when he could have escaped. He asks himself why? What was he doing? The answer came swiftly as King Kyungjong’s chest pains get worse while he’s drinking his medicine. Lee Geum ends up in the Infirmary yelling at the the Royal Physician as he doesn’t know what’s wrong with the King. Ja dong shows where he had found the bloody stain and finally Lee Geum realizes what Mil Pung-kun was up to. He runs to the King’s Palace to find King Kyungjong almost unconscious after coughing up blood from drinking the medicine that Mil Pung-kun had tampered with.

This episode aired on April 1st. Spoiler Alert!
This episode starts with the peak moment when the Noron Chairman of Congress, Lord Min Jin interrupts the special judiciary committee. He says that Crown Prince Lee Geum is innocent and even the people they tortured did not confess anything against him. Then Crown Prince Lee Geum and all his supporters are keen on finding all the evidence to prove that Prince Mil Pung-kun had planned everything.
A part not related to Lee Geum that I thought was great in this episode is that Mun-su was also able to find the evidence to prove that Inspector Wi Byung-ju had murdered Inspector Han Jeong Seok, as he aside from the guard in charge was the only person that was present at the time. Inspector Wi Byung- ju is arrested and made to walk the same route the Crown Prince had walked. He sees the Crown Prince on his horse looking down on him as suddenly the town people throw all kinds of things at him.
Then our dear Crown Prince waits an hour to see his brother the King. When the king finally invites him in he says that his hands are shaking and so must be his eyes… this is the closest to an apology Lee Geum got. Then the King orders him to “stop this tiresome circle of political revenge” and gives him his royal guards for support.
Lee Geum leaves the palace to arrest Do Ji-gwang and finds Mun Su and the guards doing the job. He supports Mun Su when he is about to get killed by shooting arrows to the Do Ji-gwang’s knife skilled partner and him. Dal Moon is also successful in getting the person who sold the poison to Mil Pung-kun. It seems we are going to have a happy ending but then it turns out Mil Pung-kun is roaming the palace and kills a guard. The episode ends with him glaring at the Crown Prince.
How handsome he looks in this outfit! So regal, so gorgeous! Love the red-purple-gold combination! Sorry! Back to the story…
Wildfires in the eastern Gangwon Province of South Korea killed one person and forced more than 4,000 people to flee their homes. The cause of the fires is believed to have been due to a transformer spark near a resort in the area on Thursday evening and spread to the cities of Sokcho and Gangneung.
According to authorities, 525 hectares of land were affected by the blaze, along with 198 homes and other buildings. As many as 3,251 firefighters, accompanied by 16,500 soldiers, military helicopters and military fire trucks, were deployed to get the flames under control.
As of Friday morning, the fire in the Sokcho region had been contained, while about 50 percent of the fire in the Gangneung region had been put out. President Moon Jae-in declared a state of emergency and asked officials to use all available resources.
Actor Jung Il-woo donated 20 million won to help victims of forest fire in Gangwon Province.
According to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, Jung Il-woo donated 20 million won on the 5th, and this money is used in the damage area of Kangwon Forest Fire.
An official said, “Jeong Il-woo has contributed steadily since then, and his donation of 20 million won will be useful for the wildfires.”
The contribution news of Jung Il-woo has been steadily transmitted. In 2012, we received the Minister of Health and Welfare Minister’s Award as “Happiness Sharing Person (Human)” in recognition of steady donation and various sharing activities. In addition, it is known that he practiced good intentions on the milestone of the New York Disability Mission in New York. In 2014, a donation of 30 million won was made for the purchase of relief goods in connection with the sinking of the lake. In 2016, 20 million won was sent to the social service center.
The Goseong-Sokcho wildfire in Gangwon Province, which occurred on the 4th of last month, is now 100% evolved, but it has suffered huge property damage. One male in his 50s died in Sokcho and one injured.

It was so nerve racking to see the fires move so fast from tree to tree… so terrible… you basically have to run and leave all behind! Fortunately it did not claim too many human lives. I imagine it did kill a lot of wild life…
Il-woo … always so kind. They will need a lot of help to get back on their feet…
This episode begins with Lee Geum doing “Seokgodaejwoe,” a ritual asking the king to forgive him. As he has now spent a whole night under the rain and a day in the sun, he is very worn down… and has a vision of his brother: Lee Hwon . He remembers fighting swords with him and how he would fall on purpose. He would say to Lee Geum, I let my self fall because I know you will help me up, and during his last time, his brother told him he would be the one to help him next time. It is a very sweet moment when they hold each others hands and his younger brother tries to lift his spirits.
After this we see the king repeat his words against Lee Geum, saying that he was plotting to kill him with some young aristocrats, including the young sons of two officials: Minister Lee and Prime Minister Kim. They plead not to take their sons away. Lee Geum walks slowly back to his palace and changes. He walks out again to the special judiciary committee to meet Minister Min Jin. there he witnesses first hand the tortures of all the young aristrocats. Amazingly, no matter how much pain they are put through, they never say his name. Lee Geum finally meets Lord Min Jin and asks him why has he kept so quiet, and he replies that he has no need to do anything when the Soron are already doing it.
Moon-soo goes to see Lee Geum, and he brought him a copy of the papers that have been hung around town against him, saying that he was not the sone of the king and that his mother had been with another man. Lee Geum pulls out another one he already had… eventually he notices how there was a character that was different in the same spot. This lead to them collecting and looking through many papers and deciphering a code that Dal Moon had placed in the papers, that stated that Dal Moon was not betraying Lee Geum as he would get rid of the culprit which is Mil Pung-kun (Yi Tan).
At the end of the episode we see our Crown Prince Lee Geum stand in front of the King and committee judges. The king gives him a chance to speak, saying he would spare his life. Lee Geum answers that he has never plotted against the king and that he cannot confess to a crime he didn’t commit. Just when the King is screaming he will do the questioning, Lord Min Jin interrupts the king and says he can’t support the questioning as there isn’t real evidence against the Crown Prince. What a surprise!!! Wait What?!!! And more importantly Why?!!!

Il-woo Ssi! You did it! You made my life so special with your first Kribbit! My gratitude for delighting me like no one else does!
Hello! This episode of Haechi aired on March 25th. Spoiler Alert.
This episode and sadly the one with my favorite number is really sad! It shows us the “back fire” Mil Pung-kun was talking about. He hires someone to write up a petition, that requests that Crown Prince Lee Geum should be allowed to rule the country in place of the king.
This creates a terrible reaction from the King and all his advisors. Lee Geum starts to notice it from the very beginning of the episode when no one shows up for his lesson. Then the king’s icy words when the Crown Prince Lee Geum suggests to ‘take a step back’ with the treatment of the officials of the Saheonbu, Saganwon (Censor’s Office), and Hongmungwan (Special Adviser’s Office) as it would be a lot to process and replace them but maybe give them a chance to straighten up. The King that already has read the petition reads this ‘step back’ very differently and snaps at the end saying that all reports should go to Lee Geum for approval. Lee Geum senses the King’s anger and goes riding to see Dal Moon to see if he knows what is going on. Dal Moon lies, as he is trying to protect, Mil Pung-kun’s partner in crime and queen wanna be Yoon-young.
He tries talking to Lord Minister Min Jin to see if he plotted the whole thing, but he denies it, but finally the King calls him back and has him read the petition and even brings another throne and places it right in front of his. Lee Geum realizes his worst fears and he has no other recourse but to perform a “Seokgodaejwoe.” This means as explained by the episode he will prostrate himself on a straw mat and wait for the King’s forgiveness.
Lee Geum writes a letter apologizing to the king and takes off his Crown Prince Regalia and kneels for a very long time. It must be so painful to be in that position, and of course I wondered about bathroom breaks… anyways he stands it the rain and in the sun. The episode ends with Mil Pung-kun sneering and asking him not to die before the next and final part of his demise. And it begins as the King approaches in the final minute and says to him something along the lines of: “I wanted to believe you were my brother but you have plotted and raised your sword against me.” Lee Geum just stares back in absolute angst.

What?! You’re telling me I have to do the rain scene again?!!!Better memorize this well, because when it will dissolve soon!Is it good enough you think? I could give you more of that WOOe face! The Director: Oh no! You look absolutely and positively miserable! WOO Yeah! They are just not paying me enough for this!!! I can’t feel my legs and I’m f… freezing!!!
Sorry! I had to find some joy y so much misery!

Watching Jung Il-woo suffering through that ordeal was simply horrible. I just kept wondering how can that even happen when nothing has been proven? And he had to endure part of that ordeal as an actor, I can’t imagine that water was warm water! But I guess feeling cold must help him act better…still I couldn’t help feeling sorry for actor, the person Jung Il-woo…
And I also felt the absence of Yeo-ji as Go Ara as she is recovering from her ankle injury. Now the interesting thing is that they did not make something up as to why she is rarely seen, but tried to weave it into the current story. I’m glad they did this and it works, but I still miss her! Luckily I found this video, a compilation of the best scenes with both of them! It is a great Lee Geum – Yeo Ji fix!
I read that she is due back on Episode 33, let’s hope it’s before that and that she is perfectly OK.
Last but not least, I wanted to place this beautiful photo somewhere in this post. Our Crown Prince Frog and his First Kribbit Magazine! Oh happy day! Just look at the cute face full of satisfaction! His magazine is currently SOLD OUT in the English side of Global Interpark! So WOOell done!!!

March 29, 2019
On this date the China National Silk Museum (NSM), near the West Lake in Hangzhou, Eastern China, held it’s first ‘Korean Evening.’ Various events were organized by: the Zhejiang People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Zhejiang Culture and Art Exchange Promotion Association, the China Silk Museum, The Korean National University of Cultural Heritage, the Hangzhou Cultural Broadcasting and Tourism Bureau, and the Hangzhou City Brand Promotion Association . Support from vocational and technical colleges, Hangzhou Opera and Dance Theatre, Xiaofeng Bookstore and other units.
Of all these organizers one is related to Jung Il-woo, The Korean National University of Cultural Heritage where his mom, Mrs. Sim Yeon-ok is a professor in the Department of Traditional Arts and Crafts. For this event Professor Yeon-ok participated in the inauguration of an exhibit called “Traditional Korean Costumes and Textiles” sponsored in part by her university. She also hosted a Korean traditional costume show. The costumes for this show were hand-crafted by the students of the Korean Traditional Culture University, showing traditional Korean men’s and women’s traditional costumes and modern and improved traditional wedding dresses from the 16th to 20th centuries. Professor SimYeon-ok’s gave the guests a very comprehensive explanation of the Korean traditional costumes.
This is a short video of the event:
Jung Il-woo was not able to be there because of the filming of Haechi, but he supported his mom’s work by creating a short promotional video for the Exhibit:
Here are my screen captures:
I visited the museum’s website and there you can see a lot of the beautiful items of the exhibit. HERE is the link. If you are in China you can visit the exhibit! I will post some of the information here as I think this link and information may be gone soon after the exhibit is over.
By the way if you wish to know more about Korean clothing go to this LINK. These are some of the images you’ll see there:
These were other activities that took place that Korean Evening:
Lu Qingyu, the director of the International Cultural and Cultural Education Center of the Korea Traditional Culture University, first gave a lecture on “World Cultural Heritage of Korea”. Through rich pictures, he showed the Korean Bulguksa Temple and the Grotto, the Jongmyo, Changdeokgung and Gyeongju historical sites. The charm of cultural heritage such as the area and the historical sites of Baekje.
The unique Korean music and singing and dancing brought a different experience to the guests. The performer from the Hangzhou Opera and Dance Theatre, with drums and friends, a passionate dance “Postal Music”, led everyone to experience the unique artistic performance of the Korean ethnic group – the folk music dance.
As the theme song of the Korean movie “My Sassy Girlfriend”, the song “I believe” is widely circulated in China. Xu Zhen, a young singer from the Hangzhou Opera and Dance Theatre and the winner of the Wenhua Award, the highest award in the arts, rehearsed the classic melody.
The short cymbals are Korean vertical blow instruments, popular in South Korea, the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of Jilin Province and other Korean-inhabited areas. The graduate student from the Korean Traditional Culture University used a short Xiao to play a song called “The Song of the Mountain.” The bright and clear voice led the audience to experience the charm of traditional Korean music.
Mr. Sun Changyu from the Qingyun Museum in Korea brought the “Hing Dance” to the traditional Korean costumes. On the basis of the Korean dance, the fans danced and showed the feminine beauty through graceful dance.
Han Guo is a traditional Korean pastry, mainly made from powders, fruits, roots and leaves of some edible plants, and desserts made of honey and sugar. The event specially prepared a variety of exquisite Korean fruit and special drinks for the guests to taste.
Now onto the exhibit, or actually I should say exhibits, there are two that were sponsored by the Korean National University of Cultural Heritage. This first one was the “Traditional Korean Costumes and Textiles” inaugurated on this Korean Evening:
I.Traditional Costumes
Imperial clothing
Formal clothing
Men’s clothing
Women’s clothing
Children’s clothing
Hat and shoes
II.Traditional Textiles
Ramie is the major source of traditional Korean textiles and its weaving technique has been listed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). According to the traditional ramie technique, teachers and students majoring in traditional fiber in Korea National University of Cultural Heritage wove out traditional ramie fabrics, and recently, they have studied and recovered some lost textiles such as Luo, and kept trying to weave various textiles by way of modern weaving machines.
The second exhibit, “Costumes in Memory” opened to the public on March 15 and was also sponsored by The Korean National University of Cultural Heritage. It is so great! They found a grave with various occupants of the Ming dynasty and the students of the university recreated the items by studying the patterns and materials used back in those times. Take a look:

Cemetery

Jacket of twill damask with flower and bamboo
Wide sleeve robe of twill damask with haechi badge

It’s so great to see mother and son working in their own fields and coming together to help preserve the culture of their beautiful country Korea. I think they could do more with this… they could make a short documentary where Jung Il-woo wears and shows us the names of the different items he wears in Haechi and he can gives us interesting historical/cultural facts about them. His mom could show some of the amazing restoration and recreation of garments using those unique looms. Wouldn’t that be amazing? It would also be such a natural way to unite their talents! It would be so special… a collaboration between mother and son.
This episode started with the almost kiss… sadly that was all it was! How they tease us! After this part we get to see Jung Il-woo working as a farmer planting rice. He looks so cute…and gives a us a really boyish smile during this part that could melt the entire Antartica! So Sweet! Everyone praises him for how good and natural he is doing this ‘lowly” job.
Then comes another cute part where he is worried sick about what he did, that he didn’t do completely to Yeo Ji, while his lover, teases him to no end! After this part, there is a short meeting at Dal Moon’s place where the Crown Prince is able to express his gratitude to Mun-su. Here Yeo Ji requests a private conversation with Prince Lee Geum and he willingly accepts. She proceeds to say to him that she was ready to fight… in order to show him that she was competent to be in the palace to protect him. The bewildered look in Jung Il-woo’s face is priceless… what?!!!
The end is bitter as Lord Min Jin insults our Crown Prince and Mil Pung-kun also gives away the imminent back fire Crown Prince Lee Geum will face soon.

This a photo from this article:
And inspired by it, these are some I created:
From these images:
And this is a video he recorded for a fan: nal919 congratulating her on her wedding wearing the same sweater:
He said something along the lines of: Nari (her name), congratulations on this one of the best days of your life. Your husband to be ‘must have saved the country in another life’ (This is a Korean saying meaning he’s a great man) to get someone as beautiful as you. I’m sorry I could not attend as I am busy filming. I wish all the best on this day and your marriage.
How kind is he to do this for a fan?! What a sweetheart!
Update: This morning I woke up and saw the new Kribbit video and it showed behind the Scenes of the photo shoot with this sweater! How in Synch we are! To celebrate I took some screen captures and edited them with flowers:
These are my screen captures:
and as I love overcoats, couldn’t pass the chance to play with these too!
I could not make up my mind about the last two… so I’m posting both… which do you like better?
This episode was very touching. Jung Il-woo goodness touching! It starts when our dear Crown Prince is in his trial and the girl who killed the aristocrat, is brought in. Lee Geum is so disconcerted, he just can’t believe they got her, as he tried to hide and protect her. He continues to protect her as he even takes off his royal robe and puts it on her. The faces of the magistrates? is that of utterly astonishment… what are you doing?!
Then comes a really sad part as the officers of the Saheonbu go to find the rest of the master killer children and beat them up! Mun-su tries to protect a girl and ends up getting beat up severely. Then as if this is not sad enough we get to see the Crown Prince shamed as he has to walk from the Saheonbu Trial Room, to the headquarters of the Capital Bureau (as they are investigating jointly). As he walks through the town, he has to listen to down putting comments. However the worst for him was watching Mun-Su all beaten up and made to kneel to come down.
While he is at a cel in the Capital Bureau, he is visited by no other than the King himself, and he tells Lee Geum, that he will bear the responsibility and that he must go on with his royal duties as Crown Prince. So then we see Crown Prince Lee Geum, attend an aristocrat celebration and give one of the most eloquent speeches. He talks about the Master Killer Children and how they are the result of the behaviors of high taxing from the aristocrats to the farmers. It was so moving and he the way they filmed him with the the light behind him made him look like an angel!
The last part of the episode is pure delight as the lowly town people put their ID batches in huge piles in support of the Crown Prince! To not dethrone him! One part I loved here is that even the women who had no ID batches, wrote their names in rocks and put them there too. Yes! Then the icing on the cake comes when Yeo Ji is trying to get Prince Lee Geum to accept her as his servant, and he almost kisses her to show what she would have to do if she became his servant. It was a very slow almost kiss… how they tease us!!!
Sigh! I think we’ll have to wait a bit more for that kiss. Darn…! I’m so ready! 🙂
