Hello! This episode of Haechi aired on March 25th. Spoiler Alert.
This episode and sadly the one with my favorite number is really sad! It shows us the “back fire” Mil Pung-kun was talking about. He hires someone to write up a petition, that requests that Crown Prince Lee Geum should be allowed to rule the country in place of the king.
This creates a terrible reaction from the King and all his advisors. Lee Geum starts to notice it from the very beginning of the episode when no one shows up for his lesson. Then the king’s icy words when the Crown Prince Lee Geum suggests to ‘take a step back’ with the treatment of the officials of the Saheonbu, Saganwon (Censor’s Office), and Hongmungwan (Special Adviser’s Office) as it would be a lot to process and replace them but maybe give them a chance to straighten up. The King that already has read the petition reads this ‘step back’ very differently and snaps at the end saying that all reports should go to Lee Geum for approval. Lee Geum senses the King’s anger and goes riding to see Dal Moon to see if he knows what is going on. Dal Moon lies, as he is trying to protect, Mil Pung-kun’s partner in crime and queen wanna be Yoon-young.
He tries talking to Lord Minister Min Jin to see if he plotted the whole thing, but he denies it, but finally the King calls him back and has him read the petition and even brings another throne and places it right in front of his. Lee Geum realizes his worst fears and he has no other recourse but to perform a “Seokgodaejwoe.” This means as explained by the episode he will prostrate himself on a straw mat and wait for the King’s forgiveness.
Lee Geum writes a letter apologizing to the king and takes off his Crown Prince Regalia and kneels for a very long time. It must be so painful to be in that position, and of course I wondered about bathroom breaks… anyways he stands it the rain and in the sun. The episode ends with Mil Pung-kun sneering and asking him not to die before the next and final part of his demise. And it begins as the King approaches in the final minute and says to him something along the lines of: “I wanted to believe you were my brother but you have plotted and raised your sword against me.” Lee Geum just stares back in absolute angst.

Just joking around here are some of the things he might be saying:
Sorry! I had to find some joy y so much misery!
Watching Jung Il-woo suffering through that ordeal was simply horrible. I just kept wondering how can that even happen when nothing has been proven? And he had to endure part of that ordeal as an actor, I can’t imagine that water was warm water! But I guess feeling cold must help him act better…still I couldn’t help feeling sorry for actor, the person Jung Il-woo…
And I also felt the absence of Yeo-ji as Go Ara as she is recovering from her ankle injury. Now the interesting thing is that they did not make something up as to why she is rarely seen, but tried to weave it into the current story. I’m glad they did this and it works, but I still miss her! Luckily I found this video, a compilation of the best scenes with both of them! It is a great Lee Geum – Yeo Ji fix!
I read that she is due back on Episode 33, let’s hope it’s before that and that she is perfectly OK.
Last but not least, I wanted to place this beautiful photo somewhere in this post. Our Crown Prince Frog and his First Kribbit Magazine! Oh happy day! Just look at the cute face full of satisfaction! His magazine is currently SOLD OUT in the English side of Global Interpark! So WOOell done!!!
