This episode begins with Lee Geum doing “Seokgodaejwoe,” a ritual asking the king to forgive him. As he has now spent a whole night under the rain and a day in the sun, he is very worn down… and has a vision of his brother: Lee Hwon . He remembers fighting swords with him and how he would fall on purpose. He would say to Lee Geum, I let my self fall because I know you will help me up, and during his last time, his brother told him he would be the one to help him next time. It is a very sweet moment when they hold each others hands and his younger brother tries to lift his spirits.
After this we see the king repeat his words against Lee Geum, saying that he was plotting to kill him with some young aristocrats, including the young sons of two officials: Minister Lee and Prime Minister Kim. They plead not to take their sons away. Lee Geum walks slowly back to his palace and changes. He walks out again to the special judiciary committee to meet Minister Min Jin. there he witnesses first hand the tortures of all the young aristrocats. Amazingly, no matter how much pain they are put through, they never say his name. Lee Geum finally meets Lord Min Jin and asks him why has he kept so quiet, and he replies that he has no need to do anything when the Soron are already doing it.
Moon-soo goes to see Lee Geum, and he brought him a copy of the papers that have been hung around town against him, saying that he was not the sone of the king and that his mother had been with another man. Lee Geum pulls out another one he already had… eventually he notices how there was a character that was different in the same spot. This lead to them collecting and looking through many papers and deciphering a code that Dal Moon had placed in the papers, that stated that Dal Moon was not betraying Lee Geum as he would get rid of the culprit which is Mil Pung-kun (Yi Tan).
At the end of the episode we see our Crown Prince Lee Geum stand in front of the King and committee judges. The king gives him a chance to speak, saying he would spare his life. Lee Geum answers that he has never plotted against the king and that he cannot confess to a crime he didn’t commit. Just when the King is screaming he will do the questioning, Lord Min Jin interrupts the king and says he can’t support the questioning as there isn’t real evidence against the Crown Prince. What a surprise!!! Wait What?!!! And more importantly Why?!!!
