While in Japan for his Fan Meet, Jung II-woo took the opportunity to travel a bit and see some of the country. He visited Kyoto, including its national museum and the gardens. He posted these photos in his Cyworld account.

This was another first for Jung II-woo! He tried producing a play for the first time. He produced “Hamlet” as part of the 50 Year Anniversary of Hanyang University. It played from November 23rd to the 26th at the Hanyang Repertoire Theater.

Because there are no photos of him “producing,” I will post some posters from other Hamlet Productions! I’ll start with my favorite…and how I wish I could have seen Benedict Cumberbatch as Hamlet! Still you can see the recording…so, so good!

An actor Jung Yi opened the official fan club (http://www.jung-ilwoo.jp/) in Japan. I interviewed Jung Il who came to Japan for the first time to conduct a fan meeting after its founding and touched its face.
– The impression that the official fan club opened in Japan.

Songs I’d like to sing at Japanese fan meetings!
– Official fan club was finally established even in Japan.
[Jung Yu] The name of the fan club “Flying Up” means “to make more flapping”, I named it with my fans and me. It was my first time to spend a good time with my fan meeting for the first time in four months, and it was a good memory. I felt like my family felt closer to the fans, I felt like my family.
– What is your impression of Japan?
【Jung Il】 I have come to Japan about 15 times privately, but it is a place that is very quiet and calm. I also got the habit of land and I can spend comfortably as I can understand a little if I do it. Besides, the Japanese food also goes well with its mouth. When I come to Japan, I will definitely go to a pork cutlet in Meguro (laugh). I usually do not eat much pork cutlet, but the shop is special and I love it.
– Are there any Japanese favorite actors?

– Currently, the popularity of the K – POP group is rising in Japan, but who are the recommended artists?
There is a HIP HOP group called [Jung Yu] Dynamic Duo, I’m getting close from my usual time, but I also have narrated songs. Now I have entered the military with military service, I would like all Japanese people to listen.
– What other good actors are you with?
{Jung-Il] Lee Min-ho and Kim Bum are outgoing relationships and are like younger brothers. I will meet with private people, and when I meet you I am relieved of stress and give me power.
– What is close to you with the role I’ve played so far? What is the point of making roles?
[Jung-Il] Yuno of “Kicking high kick” after all is close. On the contrary, Yurim Jimi of “Billboard Irujimen” had a hard time expressing emotions. In role making, I cherish that I always become a character. I definitely read the script, but I also read books related to the role.
– What kind of actor do you want to aim for?

On a completely holiday day, I play football with my friends in Junior high school days. I am making an soccer team called J.Frog, and I am an ace striker (laugh). Then, on the last birthday I got a “Shar Pei” dog from the fans, and we are playing together a lot. The name is a girl named Ah-woo, but I like it like my brother.

――いよいよ日本でも公式ファンクラブが発足しましたね。
【チョン・イル】 ファンクラブの名称「Flying Up」は、“もっと羽ばたけるように”という意味で、ファンと僕とで一緒に名付けたんです。今回の1年4ヶ月ぶりのファンミーティングは、本当に楽しい時間を過ごすことができて、いい思い出になりました。ファンの皆さんとの距離がより近くに感じられて、家族のような気持ちになりました。
――日本の印象は？
【チョン・イル】 日本にはプライベートでも15回ほど来ているんですが、とても静かで落ち着ける場所です。土地勘も身についてきましたし、少しなら言葉も通じるので、気楽に過ごせます。それに日本食も口に合うんです。来日すると、必ず目黒のとんかつ屋さんに行きます（笑）。普段はあまりとんかつは食べないのですが、そのお店は特別で、大好きなんです。
――日本の俳優で好きな人はいますか？
【チョン・イル】 たくさんいますがひとり挙げるとすると、男性では木村拓哉さん、女性では『1リットルの涙』に出演されていた沢尻エリカさんですね。それから歌手では、中島美嘉さんや桑田佳祐さんのファンです。
――ファンミーティングではピアノ演奏のほか、桑田佳祐さんの「白い恋人たち」も日本語で歌われていましたね。
【チョン・イル】 ピアノは映画『めぐり逢い』の主題曲「Love Affair」を演奏して、韓国語ではキム・ゴンモさんの「クデネゲタシ（もう一度僕と）」を歌いました。「白い恋人たち」は大好きな歌なんですけど、難しいのでどうしようかと悩んで……、でも勇気を出して歌ってみました。もっと練習して、日本でファンミーティングをするときは必ず歌うようにしたいです。
――ご自身で歌手デビューの予定などは？
【チョン・イル】 今歌うことにハマッているんです！そういうお話があれば、シングルをひとつくらい出してみたいとは思います。でも、もっとたくさん練習してからじゃないと（笑）。
弟みたいにかわいがっている？！
――現在、日本ではK-POPグループの人気が高まっていますが、オススメのアーティストは？
【チョン・イル】 ダイナミック・デュオというHIP HOPグループがいまして、普段から親しくしているんですけど、僕が曲のナレーションをしたこともあるんです。今は兵役で軍に入ってしまっているのですが、日本の皆さんにもぜひ聴いて欲しいですね。
――ほかに仲の良い俳優は？
【チョン・イル】 イ・ミンホとキム・ボムは古くからの付き合いで、弟みたいな存在です。プライベートでも会いますし、会うとストレス解消になって僕にパワーを与えてくれます。
――これまで演じてきた役で自分に近いのは？役作りのポイントは？
【チョン・イル】 自分に近いのはやっぱり『思いっきりハイキック』のユノですね。反対に『美賊イルジメ伝』のイルジメは、感情を表現するのに苦労しました。役作りでは、いつもキャラクターになりきることを大事にしています。台本をしっかり読むのはもちろんですが、役柄に関連した本も読んだりします。
――今後どのような俳優を目指したい？
【チョン・イル】 俳優は一生の仕事だと思っていますので、これからもいろんな役をやってみたいですし、『思いっきりハイキック』で共演した、イ・スンジェさんのような幅の広い俳優になりたいと思っています。あと、最近はシリアスな役が続いたので、今度は明るくて気楽に観られる作品にも出演してみたいですね。
――ところで、オフの日はどのように過ごしていますか？
【チョン・イル】 現在は演技の勉強のために大学に通いながら、体力作りのためにジムにも週4日通っているので、あまり休みはないんです。完全に休日という日は、中学時代の友人たちとサッカーをしますね。J.FLOGというサッカーチームを作っていて、僕がエースストライカーなんです（笑）。それから、前回の誕生日にファンの方からシャーペイという犬をいただいて、よく一緒に遊んでいます。名前はアウという女の子なんですけど、弟みたいにかわいがっています。

On this day Jung II-woo held his second Fan Meet in Japan at the Yoyogi Yamano Hall in Tokyo. There with about 1000 attendees from various countries he celebrated the opening of his official Japanese Fan Club called “Flying Up.” He chose this name with fans and he liked it because for him it meant that his fans helped him in “Flying Up.”
First I want to highlight his preparation for this and his last Fan Meet in Korea. He practiced dancing and singing for about a month and playing the piano for three months. This is one of my favorite videos ever of Jung II-woo, it is in the section of “Oh Delight” I finally know the time period where it is from! So here it is if you haven’t seen it:

When appearing from the door beside the venue, Mr. Jung Il in black suit moved walking from the passenger’s aisle to the stage in a loud roaring cheer.
Jung Il: You guys are a long time, Jung Il. I was really looking forward to seeing all the Japanese fans. I prepared for various reasons for today, so please enjoy until the end. Nice to meet you. Everyone, I wanted to see you! (The crowd is great cheers when greeting in Japanese)

Jung II-woo held his Third Fan meet in Korea where he celebrated his 24th birthday. It took place at the Yang Cheon Hall in Seoul after various months of preparations. He practiced playing the piano, singing and dancing for this meet for three months! Photo Cr. and Video Cr. on them!
The event began with Jung II-woo playing the piano: “Love Affair” from the movie with the same name. I wish I would have found a video of him plying this piece, but sadly I could not. Here is the best thing, a photo of him doing it and after that a video with the piece he played.
Then he sang and danced to “Candy in My Ears” with invited guest Baek Ji-youn. Found a couple of photos of this part and a video with Baek Ji-youn singing that same song. Just imagine Jung II-woo singing and dancing! Whoaaaa!

Then there was a gift session with all kinds of gifts made by different fans from Korea, China and Japan. The Japanese fans gave Jung II-woo quite a surprise! A “Shar Pei” puppy! Yes! Jung II-woo later named his puppy “Ah-woo” which means younger brother. He wanted to show his appreciation in how he would care for it as if it was a younger brother. After being with Ah-woo for a month he wrote “Our Ah Woo is a frog. She doesn’t listen to commands, and she looks like one. Because of you, I have turned into a person who wakes up early.
