Happy Lunar Year! Wishing you the very best this year! What a great day to start this Lunar Year too! Super Bowl and Running Man Episode! WOOw how fun was that show! I will add to this post as I find videos and photos from the media. These are from the photo shoot for promoting the episode:
These are my Screen Captures:
WITAT
For me I can sum this show (from an Il-woo perspective) as: it was so great to see Il-woo handle like a king all the activities that are not comfortable or easy for him: singing, dancing, and that vowel game. Keeping the rhythm in that game was so hard for him… yet he soldiered on. I have to say I suffered a bit for him in that part. But in the end this is what I like about reality shows like these, you get to see idols in a more average human realm.
I thought the part where all the women (including the woman king) lined up behind him! It was really funny!
I couldn’t believe they showered in the end! That water must have been so cold for them! Brrrrrrr!
Now a photo slide show of the New England patriots. Watching this game was boring as they really tried and successfully stopped each other from scoring. But experience gave the New England Patriots their win in the end. Bill Belichick (66) is twice the age of the Ram’s manager Sean McVay (33) and Tom Brady (42) is almost twice the age of Jared Goff (24) the quarterback of the Rams!

The moment Brady realizes they had won! His eyes are like an eagle’s and his fierceness like a lion’s!
Enter a Bill Belichick celebrates with his grand-daughter.
Enter This is Julian Edelman, the great trooper of last night’s Super Bowl. His catches and runs were determinant in the Patriot’s win. He was chosen the MVP and below you can see him with his daughter.
Tom Brady is another man I admire greatly. He is talented, handsome, hardworking and disciplined, a great husband and dad. I loved seeing him with his daughter like that! Just look at her… I don’t think there was a being happier than her in that moment!
In a way all of them celebrated the girls in their lives, honoring the future women…
I look forward to seeing Jung Il-woo become a great husband and dad someday. I think he will have a daughter too!
These sure brightened my night! I have to go to bed soon but I’m so charged, it will take a while! So I decided to post these now! To calm down… These come via Naver Dispatch. No article, just photo after photo delight! Jung Il-woo is so in tune with his work, he posted about them right after they came out!
This is a video that Il-woo just posted:
Update: August 6, 2019
I found the link to Vlive awesome video that shows him posing too…
WOOw! WOOhat a Delight! 🙂 This has put me in such high spirits… it’s like light! I’m so thankful to Jung Il-woo for all I feel right now… all my Venezuelan worries melt away photo after photo… and then all is left is just pure happiness. How do you do such a thing? How you light up my life! Wait… there is a song… this is it…precisely how you make me feel:

My screen Captures. (If you are reposting these remember, the right thing is to credit where you took them from.)
Update January 24, 2019: Please note that what you will read in this post is my personal political position in this matter. It is not Jung Il-woo’s. If Jung Il-woo has any problems with me using his image with a Venezuelan flag, I am sure he will let me know… know that my intention is that of self expression. I am American and as such I live in a democratic country that gives me the freedom to express my thoughts and my feelings. And this is an American website.
Yesterday January 23rd, 2019 the majority of Venezuelans have gone out to the streets to ask for the end of the dictatorship of Maduro, the current “elected” president of Venezuela as he looks to extend once more his term. Under his dictatorship, as he does not allow for legitimate elections, thousands of Venezuelans have died, more recently due to the lack of medicines and food. A quarter of the children are malnurished… and I could give facts and facts and facts about how this “socialist goverment” has destroyed Venezuela. You can read all about it HERE if you are interested.
Today National Assembly President Juan Guaidó, swore himself in as interim president of Venezuela. Many foreign governments, including Colombia, Brasil, Costa Rica, Peru, Canada and the United States have expressed their support for Juan Guaidó assuming the role as acting president of Venezuela. This is our Vice President speaking in support on January 22nd:
Nicolás Maduro has now given 72 hours to US diplomats supporting Juan Guaidó to leave Venezuela, but the US is saying it does not recognize Nicolás Maduro as a legitimate president.
Update January 24, 2019: Things are getting more complicated as now China and Russia have voiced that they will not support any intervention from the US, and they will support Nicolás Maduro. And in these countries the news is being told from the perspective of a ‘coup d’éta’ (An iligitimate overthrow of the government by a minority.) with the support of the US.
It is too soon to say what will happen, but I pray for a quick resolution and one where Venezuelans suffer the least. I pray that Venezuela is not divided into a North Venezuela and a South Venezuela… but it’s interesting to see the same nations line up in the same way in this situation. You have China and Russia supporting Nicolas Maduro (what would have been North Korea back in time and the US, the European Union and most Latin American countries supporting Juan Guaidó in what would be like South Korea. Communism vs. Democracy once more… but Venezuela is too tired and too poor for a war of this sort … the division of its people? A civil war with big powers at play? Oh god please, please!!! spare them!
This is from CNN:
Senior Trump administration official on Venezuela: “All options are on the table”
From CNN’s Liz Stark
In a background call about Venezuela Wednesday, a senior Trump administration official said that “all options are on the table” with regards to possible future actions, including sanctions against the country.
The remarks comes as President Trump announced earlier that he is recognizing Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido as the legitimate president of Venezuela.
“In regards to the options, frankly in our sanctions, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what actually the United States can take from an economic sanctions front,” the senior administration official said.
CNN reported that depending on the severity of Nicolás Maduro’s response, Trump is also prepared to take a range of actions to punish him, including possible oil sanctions, two sources familiar with White House deliberations said.
Later when asked about possible actions that the United States could take, the senior official reiterated:
“When we say all options are on the table, it means all options are on the table.”
“Now if they choose the route of violence and seek to usurp the constitutional order and democracy, let us be clear, that we have a host of options. We will take every single one of those options seriously,” the official cautioned.
“The message to Maduro and his cronies will be that — if that is the route they choose — it will be very clear to them … they will have no immediate future. They will have no immediate livelihood. And therefore, one way or another, have their days counted.”
I am so overjoyed with the news that the US is supporting Venezuela’s new interim president. I am praying so hard for the end of this horrible regime and for the safety of all the innocent Venezuelans… especially the children. Our population is very young… take a look: (Cr. Statista.com)
Today, I pray it’s a day remembered by all Venezuelans. A day when Venezuela regained its liberty. Please is you can, pray for the people of Venezuela. We need all the positive energy in this world we can get in this moment!
Por favor… cuida de todos los Venezolanos en esta hora tan difícil! Bendice a nuestro país con prosperidad nuevamente.
And where does Jung Il-woo come into this equation? He is the prince that has saved my head time and time again from my Venezuelan sadness. I have watched my country go from being the fourth richest nation in Latin America, to one of the poorest. I have seen my family split up and we now live in five different countries: Panamá, the US, Germany, Spain and Venezuela. We are oceans apart due to the terrible situation in Venezuela. And we wonder if we’ll ever be able to celebrate as a whole family ever again. All of this and the constant terrible news has been very hard for me at times…
Jung Il-woo, I am thankful to you forever! For making my tears evaporate, for inspiring me, for making me daydream! I wish someday for you to see my country as the beautiful free democratic nation it once was! These are two places you can visit… they are so gorgeous:
I will end this post with music… this is our sentimental national anthem… it fills me with joy every time I hear it. Here it is performed by the wonderful musicians of our National Youth Orchestra led by Gustavo Dudamel, our most famous orchestra director:
These are the Lyrics translated:
Llanera* Soul
I
I was born on this riverbank
Of the rippling Arauca**
I’m a brother of the sea foam
Of the herons, of the roses
I’m a brother of the sea foam
Of the herons, of the roses
And of the sun, and of the sun
I
Was lulled by the lively reveille
Of the breeze in the palm grove
And therefore I have the spirit
Like the exquisite soul
And therefore I have the spirit
Like the exquisite soul
of crystals, of crystals
I love, I cry, I sing, I dream
With carnations of passion
With carnations of passion
For adorning the blond mane
Of my lover’s colt
I was born on this riverbank
Of the rippling Arauca
I’m a brother of the sea foam
Of the herons, of the roses
And of the sun
EL ALMA LLANERA
Yo nací en esta ribera
Del Arauca vibrador.
Soy hermano de la espuma,
De las garzas, de las rosas.
Soy hermano de la espuma,
De las garzas, de las rosas,
Y del sol, Y del sol.
Me arrulló la viva diana
De la brisa en el palmar,
Y por eso tengo el alma,
Como el alma primorosa.
Y por eso tengo el alma,
Como el alma primorosa,
Del cristal, Del cristal.
Amo, sueño, canto, rio
Con claveles de pasión,
Con claveles de pasión.
Para ornar las rubias crimes
Para ornar las rubias crimes
Del potro de mi amador.
Yo nací en esta ribera
Del Arauca vibrador.
Soy hermano de la espuma
De las garzas, de las rosas,
Y del sol, Y del sol.

Yes! They are bold and beautiful. I found an article about them too so I translated and will place its writing in between the posters. Ready? Get set… Delight!
SBS funE | Reporter Kang Sun-ae
The six-member character poster with the faces of “Haechi,” Jeong Il-woo-Gora, Kwon Yul, Park Hoon-i-Lee, and Jung Moon-sung have been unveiled for the first time.
SBS’s new monthly drama “Haechi” (written by Kim Young and directed by Lee Yong-seok), which will be aired for the first time on February 11, is about love and friendship that should not be king, and Kim, who is the main character of the hit drama “Isan”-dong” and “Mama,” are the stories of love and friendship. Director Lee Yong-seok, who has been recognized for his excellent performances in fusion dramas “Iljimae” and mystery thriller “The Village – A Secret,” is drawing keen attention as he foresaw a luxurious historical drama with Kim Young-young.
Haechi revealed a poster of the six-member character, which shows the color of the character of the six main characters, including Jung Il-woo- Go ara, Kwon Yul, Park Hoon-Yi and Jung Moon-seong. As each character’s meaningful eyes, including the young man Yeongjo, who has never been properly dealt with, harmonizes with overwhelming visuals, increasing the level of immersion. In particular, the logo of the legendary animal that judges quarrels and good and evil, and the symbol of the Sagheonbu, the symbol of the Hatch, gives a powerful impact. With Haechi, which dominates the eyes of people who see only two words, the image of the Joseon Dynasty’s private ministry, which used to be the eyes and ears of kings, is drawing keen attention.
연잉군 아금 / 정일우 Yeon Ying-gun Lee Geum by Jung Il-woo
First of all, Jung Il-woo, who plays the role of the controversial king, “Yeon Ying-gun Lee Geum,” focuses his attention with a red hanbok and charismatic expression. His eyes are as if he is watching his lips and the other person. Therefore, attention is focusing on how Yeongjo, who was born in a lower class, will later lead to the revival of the late Joseon Dynasty.
여지 / 고아라 Yeo-ji by Go Ara
Unlike her innocent appearance, she has a vivid face of Daemo, the best woman in Joseon Dynasty. In particular, Damo’s diligence and determination are evident from his reckless eyes, which seem to overwhelm his opponent in a single gulp. In this regard, the work of Go-ara, who will work together with the controversial royal family, Jung Il-woo, to correct the justice of Joseon, is drawing keen attention.
박문수 / 권율 Park Moon-soo by Kwon Yul
Park Moon-soo, a former preparation student, attracts the attention of the public. His character is full of righteous and enthusiastic spirit. Expectations are high on how the passionate performance of the authority to play the role of kingmaker Jung Il-woo, the king’s king in question, will be portrayed.
달문 / 박훈 Dal-moon as Park Hoon
With his disheveled hair and sharp eyes shining, Park expressed the role of “moon,” a wreath of “moon.” Expectations are high for his unusual transformation as wild boars and unfettered spirit are springing up like one cut. In particular, they are raising questions about the identity of their cool-looking eyes.
민진헌 / 이경영 Min Jin-won as Lee Geung-young
Min Jin-hon as the leader of the Noron forces under the acting of Lee Geung-young are eye-catching. Forth, a sly man with unlimited charisma and political ambition, seems to be a temple. As an aspiring scholar who tries to build a folding screen wage in the Joseon Dynasty and shake the world in his own hands, attention is paid to the passion Lee will show.
밀풍군 이탄 / 쩡문성 Mil Pung-kun Yetan by Jung Moon-song
Jeong Il-woo and Jeong Moon-seong, who play the role of Prince of the Milpung County, draw attention to the colorful appearance of applying purple silk. With a cold-blooded look on his face without laughter and a look at his inner thoughts to win the crown, expectations are high on what kind of transformation he will seek against Jung Il-woo.
“The character poster released this time captured the long-cherished desire and longing that the six main characters, including Jung Il-woo – Go Ara – Kwon Yul, had hidden, symbolically expressed their desire,” the production crew said. “With the signal that fierce power struggle surrounding the presidential election begins, we expect to take place in the youth of King Yeongjo.”
Haechi will be on air for the first time at 10:00 p.m. on Feb. 11 following “Revenge is Back.
Update! January 22, 2019. The video of the press conference came out. Here it is:
January 21, 2019
On the afternoon of the 21st, a press conference was held on SBS, Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. I found various articles so first I will post all the photos and then all the articles translated. Get ready to delight…he looks absolutely divine!

[TV Lab] “Hatch,” Jeong Il-woo, came back stronger. #Alternative service #brain aneurysm

Link to article in Korean HERE.
Actor Jung Il-woo will return to the small screen after two years. That is why he is very determined and passionate.
A press conference was held at the SBS building in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul on Wednesday, hosted by Kim Min-hyung, the main character of SBS’s new monthly drama “Haechi” (picture script, Kim Young-young, director Lee Yong-seok). Jeong called off the movie in December last year and chose Haechi as the first movie to return to the small screen in two years.
When asked about his military life, Jeong said carefully, “I am embarrassed because I have served as a substitute and I am careful to speak to him.”
“I was known to have done alternative service due to a car accident, but I was diagnosed with alternative service because of a car accident,” Jeong said. “After that, I went to a hospital to check my headache during filming of a drama and found a disease called cerebral aneurysm.” “I was worried about my military service because of the reason for the exemption, but I went to the military because it is a duty that the Korean people should do.”
Chung was given an alternative service as a social worker after suffering from a major car accident in the past. Afterwards, he was diagnosed with cerebral aneurysm, but he was admitted to a training center and performed his duty of national defense as scheduled without asking for a re-examination.
“Now that I’ve finished my military service, I feel relieved, and I feel more patriotic and proud while I’m serving in the military.” “I think I can live a more honorable life as an actor.”
Haechi is the story of friendship and love drawn by the problematic prince (Jeong Il-woo) who should not be king. Jung plays the role of the young prince, ‘Yeon Ying-gun Lee Geum,’ a controversial royal prince who should not be king in the play. He is a prince who was born in Musudi, and is perfectly equipped with natural genius, bright brain, and cool judgment, but is not welcomed anywhere.
Jeong Il-woo, who portrayed a young Yeong-jo, said that his life was not that big, unlike Lee Geum-geum. Jeong Il-woo revealed the most difficult moment of his life.
Jung Il-woo said, “When I was suffering from the biggest shock, I was diagnosed with cerebral aneurysm disease. I heard from the hospital that the disease is a time bomb-like disease and I don`t know when to die.
After that, Jeong Il-woo, who said, “Through today, I felt that it would be okay to live with people while enjoying my life more, showing a comfortable life,” adding, “I feel grateful and regretless, and I was always careful while keeping myself locked up. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime life, and let’s enjoy it every day. I felt that way a lot.”
Jeong Il-woo, who is currently filming the drama, said, “I was agonizing over various works during my military service. “I had a lot of thoughts about what I should return to, but it’s not the usual lyric that has been dealt with so far, but the story of Young King has come to be attractive,” Hatch said.
Jeong also explained about his new character approach. “Before, I thought about how I could be immersed in my character without Chung Il-woo. “The film tries to immerse itself in the character, questioning how much I have in common with Lee Geum’s character and why he can only do this.” “I’m grateful to the writer,” he said. “He took the character away from all the actors. I also read about five times with the writer. Before that, the director talked to the director and captured him on the spot. Now, of course, the director catches him on the spot, and the author keeps him firmly on the ground. “I think the approach has changed since I’ve been acting,” the producer of “Haechi” told the other than “Hatch
Jeong also noted that the filming environment, which changed the most from two years ago, is keeping the film 68 hours a week. He said, “The biggest change is the system, which is 68 hours a week. Our drama is shooting with the utmost care. I think it`s good to see such an improvement in the system.
[Integration] “Increasing self-esteem after service.”Jeong Il-woo, why do you think it’s a hit?
2019. 01. 21
Actor Jeong Il-woo will signal his return to Korea for the first time since he was discharged from the military as Haechi.
Jung Il-woo attended a press conference for the new SBS drama “Haechi” on Wednesday at Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.
Haechi (played by Lee Yong-seok, screenwriter Kim Young-young, production) is a story of friendship and love drawn by a troubled prince (played by Jung Il-woo) who should not be king. Written by Kim, who led the box-office success story by starring Lee San, Dong-dong, and Ma, producer Lee Yong-seok, who directed the fusion drama “Iljimae” and the mystery thriller “The Secret of Aquarium.”
Jung Il-woo plays the role of Yeon Ying-gun Lee Geum, a controversial royal prince who should not be king in the play. He is a prince born in Musudi, and is perfectly equipped with genius, brilliant mind, and cool judgment, but he is not welcomed anywhere. It is the first time for the film to be released after the release of its original title. After completing his military service on November 30 last year, Chung will fire a signal of his comeback with a hatch.
“It has been a long time since I returned to Korea after serving in the military,” Jeong said. During my military service, I was worried and worried about many works. The movie is not about ordinary King Yeongjo, but about young King Yeongjo’s story, which has been discussed in the past, so I decided to make the movie as the first movie to be released after serving in the military.
He added, “I am embarrassed and cautious about my military service because I have done alternative service. It is known that he did alternative service due to traffic accidents, but he was diagnosed with a car accident and had a headache during filming, so he went to the hospital and found a cerebral aneurysm by accident. Therefore, there were many concerns about the military service because it was a reason for exemption. However, I thought that I should do it because it was a natural duty as a Korean citizen. While serving in the military, there seems to be more patriotism and pride. “I think I can lead an actor’s life with dignity.”
Did he change his mind about acting after serving in the military? “There is no significant change in the way we act,” he said. The place where I worked as an alternative service was a nursing home. Our nursing home was mostly dementia patients and stayed in hospitals until they died. It was the first time I’d seen people close to the end of my life watching my caretakers die. I think my feelings as an actor were different in acting. “Before that, I should be immersed in this character,” she said honestly, “Now I think I can take a step back and enjoy watching the entire movie.”
“The ups and downs of my life weren’t big,” she said, discussing whether the role in the drama was similar to Lee Geum. The hardest time for me was when I was diagnosed with a condition called cerebral aneurysm. When I heard that this disease was such a time bomb that I could die, my view of life changed. Today, I felt that I had to live with no regrets and thanks. Jeong Il-woo, who used to be restrained and careful, said, “I think it’s okay to enjoy my life and show myself to people. Lee Keum also said, “When I want to give up my life due to a big accident, I think that the motives that I have to move forward are similar.”
It was also known that Jeong suffered from the disease recently. It has been reported that he lost 14 kilograms in a month to get a “hatch” shot after the military’s discharge from the military, which was caused by a decrease in his immune system. He’s completely cured now. “I am doing military service and gained about 13 kilograms,” he said. After I was discharged from the military, I lost about 14 kilograms and since then, my immune system has declined. I feel sorry for the production staff and staff in that respect because I couldn’t take care of myself. “Now that I’ve recovered from my condition, I’m shooting without a hitch,” she said.
Actor Jung Il-woo, who returned to Haechi, “It’s an honor to play Yeong-jo.” Jeong Il-woo, a reporter for SBS’s new monthly drama “Haechi” and “Lee Geum.”
19.01.21
Jung Il-woo will return to the SBS new monthly drama <Hatch> after finishing his military service.
“Haechi,” which will premiere on February 11, features a story about Prince Yeon Ying-gun Lee Geum (Jeong Il-woo), a man born in an immeasurable body, Park Moon-soo (Kwon Yool-yul), a 2 percent short-lived inspector, a hot-blooded Damo-gul (Gora Boon), and a rising star on that street, who wins the final right and reform of the Joseon Dynasty.
Jeong Il-woo, the main actor who played the role of Lee Geum, a young bird in “Hatch,” held a press conference at the SBS building in Mok-dong, Seoul on Tuesday afternoon.
Cerebral aneurysm… He’s different in his attitude toward life.
The first question asked Jung Il-woo was about the military since he returned from his military service.
There is something hard to say about my military service because I am a substitute. I’ve been known to have been substituted for my old car accident, but the verdict is correct. However, I went to the hospital to examine my headache, and I happened to find a cerebral aneurysm.
I had a lot of concerns about the military service because of the reason for exemption from the military, but I thought it was my duty as a Korean citizen and now I feel relieved. Through his service, he has increased patriotism and pride.”
Jeong suffered from the virus not long ago, but asked questions about his current health. “I gained about 13 kilograms from my military service,” he said. “I lost 14 kilograms because I had to go back to the army, so I lost 14 kilograms and got the Herpes virus because I lost a lot of immunity.”
Is there a change in the attitude of acting after serving in the military? To this question, Jeong said, “There is no significant change in the way we deal with acting,” but confessed that his view of life has changed.
“I did alternative service at a nursing home, mostly dementia patients,” he said. “I watched the elders die, and it was my first time seeing them close to the end of my life, so I think I have changed my feelings as an actor.” “I used to focus on the character itself, but now I’ve taken a step back to look at the entire work and think about how I can immerse myself in this work and enjoy my leisure time,” he added.
“The brain aneurysm is a time bomb-like disease, so I heard that I might die at a hospital and my view of life has changed. Every day was considered precious, and I seem to have changed from Jeong Il-woo, who kept me in check, to Jeong Il-woo, who enjoys life more and shows me more comfortably with people. I thought it would be OK to live like that. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime life, so let’s enjoy it without regret,” I thought.”

WITAT
Martin Luther King Day. Recent snow storm. Cozy warm home. Time. Time to catch up in all the recent news of Jung Il-woo! WOO hoo!
Of what I have read so far… Jung Il-woo mentioned various times how when he was younger he was very nervous. He worried a lot about not having the talent to do certain work when he was very young. He also suffered a lot after “My Fair Lady” as good roles as a lead were not coming in. This is when he chose a secondary role in 49 days. And this decision was so good it gave him the best acting year of his life thus far with “Flower Boy Ramen Shop and The Moon that Embraces the Sun.
As he has aged, he has had more experiences and has become more confident in himself and his ability as an actor. With the aneurysm diagnosis that came to our knowledge in 2016, and the time he spent at his military duty, he had time to take a break from being the star, to think, to be with himself, and from this a more mature and confident Jung Il -woo has emerged. I think he is still a nervous type of person… the lack of judgement in putting his body through such a drop of weight ordeal tells me so… he is a rabbit in the Chinese zodiac after all, but I feel he is a more settled rabbit. He has a better mind set: to live and to enjoy! And worry less… hey! that reminds me of a song… yes!
Jung Il-woo trust life! Trust that you will live a long healthy life! Make good decisions for your body… like diet with more time!
