Jung Il Woo is such a sweet pumpkin!

October 24, 2020

It is pumpkin time and no other year have I delighted more in seeing beautiful pumpkins displays than this year as I walk to school most days.  It has been such a treat watching Boston dress up in Autumn colors and pumpkins and now Halloween decor.  So I decided to reflect that in this website by looking for Ilwoo pumpkin color events!  I will share three with you.

For the first one, it’s amazing the “coincidences”… first off this event happened almost exactly 6 years ago, on October 23rd, 2014!  And I had picked these photos because they had orange and spider webs… and I thought it would be a great lead into Halloween… then I read the back and I was blown away… It’s an event to raise awareness about breast cancer.  I mentioned in an recent Instagram post that I had found out some really sad cancer news in some dear ones… friends.  It is breast cancer too.  In one of them it is so terrible… they did everything, chemo and radiation but sadly it has spread…  Aside from watching my friends suffer and not being able to do anything about it, the hardest part is the fear that sets in.  How to keep one’s head clear and in the believe that I am fine now and that I will be fine in the future too?

Please if you are a woman, make sure you are doing breast self exams at least once a month.  And do not skip getting your check ups because of Covid 19.

About this event, it was held at Han River Plateau, Chung Woo-dong, Seoul.  First I am posting a video then the photos.

Another pumpkin color event was when he modeled for Fila Sport wearing hiking gear:

This is the video translated…  Thank you so much Indonesian Fans!

Another instance when Ilwoo was a sweet pumpkin was when he filmed Star Shop Episode 4.  He wore an orange sweater… do you remember?  This was in 2016.  His haircut then was so adorable… he looked like a big boy…

You can see all the goodness of this pumpkin in the coming video…  he is totally a sweet pumpkin!

He also had an interview in this orange sweater:

More recently he wore orange for the National Health Insurance Service Magazine. Do you remember?

More Pumpkins?  Yes…!  Last, I want to share with you some of the pumpkin related photos I’ve been taking on my walks to school.  Pumpkins are really beautiful here in the states.  They come in so many colors!  But orange is still the favorite!  One thing we do is carve Jack O’Lanterns, this means we take a pumpkin and empty it of all its seeds.  Then we use carving tools to make all kids of fun and artistic designs.  I will share the ones I’ve see so far this year too…

And of course here is the perfect memory one of Covid 19:

We have taken these pumpkins to amazing levels of creativity, not just in the carving skills but also in the food department.  These are all pumpkin food creations sold at a local supermarket called Trader Joe’s:

And that’s not all!

Thank goodness for my work and Ilwoo Ssi… writing posts, voting, watching his dramas or interviews… it all helps to have other kinds of thoughts in my head.  Talking about voting, please keep the voting in the Artist Asia Awards going.  He has dropped to place 28… as people are voting less…

Sadly, the number for Covid 19 cases are rising in Boston again.  Yesterday,Boston Public Schools closed its door even for the special needs kids who had been attending since mid September.  Today at faculty meeting our principal announced that next week may be our last week in person for now… we have to get ready to go fully remote.  Send kids home with all their supplies… etc.  And even though I felt so sad in one moment, I also felt thankful to had had the time with my students and we will make it to our celebration of Halloween, which will be this coming Thursday!  So glad for the kids…!  We’ll all enjoy each other’s costumes!
