I really, really, really enjoyed this cooking program! All the people knew so much about food…even the eaters! All the dishes looked so delicious! I delighted so much in watching Ilwoo cook and eat… you can tell he loves doing both so much! It is impressive what he can stuff into that beautiful little mouth! Geez! I’m in awe of how Koreans slurp noodles… probably many Asian people do that huh? We don’t… in fact it is considered impolite to slurp food in any way! We basically cut it to pieces and then pick up a bit and eat it that way. Noodles are not used in western soups either… only short pasta. I have tried slurping my ramen soup noodles when I’m alone, and I can’t do it well. I’m scared it may go into my throat!
I will miss getting up on Fridays to watch this show… it made for such a great start to my Friday… a day I’m usually tired after a long week of work with kids. I wonder what Ilwoo will do next! Can’t wait…!!! I have no doubt it will be aWOOsome! 🙂
Thank you so much for this great show Ilwoo Ssi! It was such a treat!
My wish for Ilwoo and his fans are the words on this video… cheers!
And please remember our home, Earth in your goals for 2020! For the future of humanity we need to act NOW.
WITAT
Sadly, the end of my year was shaken by a most terrible news, the son of one my best friends died. He was 29 years old. His parents got a call when he had not shown up to work and had not answered any calls. They found him dead in his apartment, laying on the sofa as if asleep with his laptop still on. They still don’t know what he died of, they are getting the results of an autopsy soon. Reading my friend’s message shook me to the core. I have cried and prayed and tried to sleep. How can this be? Why? These are the moments that are so hard in life. When someone like my friend who is the kindest soul finds the life of his life dead like that.
Of course this made me think of Ilwoo.
In the end we are all but a breath for the universe. These beings that live a very short period of time and have no idea where, or how, or when we will cease to be in this human form. But what we do know is that because our lives are so short, we must make the most of it. We must live life as if it was our last day… that is how Ilwoo lives. He does all he his best… everyday. So one lives a life that is free of regret. And like Henry David Thoreau wrote, “…and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life…”
I will leave you with another quote from Henry. May you live a life that is full! May all your dreams come true! GOD bless you!
Our life is frittered away by detail… simplify, simplify.
Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.
All good things are wild, and free.
The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.
It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.
Aim above morality. Be not simply good, be good for something.
That government is best which governs least.
In wildness is the preservation of the world.
Goodness is the only investment that never fails.
This cheered me up a bit this morning… it’s Ilwoo cheering! 🙂 I like to think it’s a sign… for a Woonderful year 13! Drama 13!! Fan 13…!!! 🙂
If you scroll down you will Haechi. I couldn’t get this translated… but I figured it out by using Google Translate. The site looks like this:
6) Clicking on Haechi will take you to the original sign in page. Sign in with your created username and password and click sign in.
Then it will bring you back to the voting screen and there you will see your username. (I cut mine out for privacy purposes) First put a check under the gray box (smaller red circled) It says: “I agree to the collection and use of personal information.” and then click on the Haechi box. It will ask you in Korean “Will you vote?” and you click OK. Then it says “Voting was successful.”
I am not sure how many times one can vote in a day but there doesn’t seem to be a limit. Sometimes if it’s been a long while it will log you out but then by log in in one can vote again. It would be so nice if Haechi won for Ilwoo. He worked so hard! Here are some photos remembering him in this great drama:
I hope you are having a WOOnderful Christmas! Here is a little extra Ilwoo treat of the Santa kind…
This video is from 2013… and so are these photos. They are from the same photographer Jung Il woo currently works with: Kwon Yoon-sung who also took the photos for his 2020 calendar! He really knows how to capture the beauty of Ilwoo… and you can tell Ilwoo feels at ease with him too. Anyways delight in this very adorable Santa:
May GOD bless your paths and fill it with much delight! Be present and trust in GOD’s loving universal energy. It is always with you…
…and pray for gift number 13! Ilwoo’s to air new drama …number 13! What role do you dream him in? Wish, dream, pray… with happiness… it’s coming next year! Believe it Ilwoo! You have it all!!!…
How sweet! Jung Il-woo received the 2019 KBS award for Rookie Award in Show & Entertainment for his participation on the show “Convenience Store Restaurant”, Shim Young Soon also won the award for “Boss in the Mirror.” Here is the live video of the carpet arrival where he is dressed in Rick Owens. Jung Il woo arrives at 1:23:43ish!
This is the video of him getting the award. He is after Shim Young Soon… at around 1:20:00. He gets so many flowers!
Here are some of the many photos. I organized them by color!
