Jung Ilwoo is cast in a new drama, titled Golden Rainbow, with Uee.
Jung Ilwoo joined the cast of MBC’s new weekend drama series Golden Rainbow in a lead role. On October 14, Mayqueen Pictures, the production company, confirmed that Jung Ilwoo had been cast in an adult lead role for the series.
Golden Rainbow is about seven orphans who live close together as if they were real brothers and sisters pulling though the hardships of their lives. It will take the slot of Scandal – A Shocking And Immoral Incident, which is currently running.
Jung will play Do Young, who lives like a stranger with his father and stepmother and becomes a prosecutor. Do Young is in love with Bae Won, played by Uee, who is the big sister of seven siblings.
An official of the production company says, “We were very careful in choosing the actor to play the lead because the role is crucially important to the story line. We have high expectations of him because he’s popular and is a good actor.”
Such well-known teenage actors as Kim Yujung, Oh Jaemoo, Seo Youngjoo, and Song Yujung have also been cast as well as such adult actors as Kim Sangjoong, Do Jiwon, Jo Mingi, Park Wonsook, An Naesang, and Ji Soowon. The series begins airing on November 2.

Upcoming MBC weekend drama ‘Golden Rainbow‘ unveiled photos of leads UEE and Jung Il Woo‘s meeting for their poster shoot!
The cast held their laid-back photoshoot at Sky Park in Sangamdong, Seoul on the 16th. With their bright smiles, UEE and Jung Il Woo looked like a perfect fit as a couple already. Cha Ye Ryun, who plays the role of Baek Won (UEE)’s older sister Chun Won, and Lee Jae Yoon, who plays the role of Baek Won’s older brother Man Won, also joined the photo shoot, making it a family affair and confirming their casting.
The drama will talk about the story of 7 orphans who go through hardships with a bond even stronger than that of blood-related siblings. UEE will play the role of Baek Won, the oldest of the orphans. Kim Yoo Jung will be playing her child counterpart, and Kim Sang Joong will be playing her adoptive father. Jung Il Woo will play the role of Do Young, who grows up in an estranged family after his father Jin Ki (Jo Min Ki) remarries, and later becomes a prosecutor. He later meets Baek Won who becomes a strong source of support for him and develops a romance with her.
‘Golden Rainbow’ will premiere on November 2!

Jung II-woo and UEE to Lead a New Weekend Drama. HERE in Korean
MBC Weekend Drama ‘Yui’ and ‘Jung Yi’ of the Golden Rainbow ended their first job.
Yui and Jung Yi first met with the ‘Golden Rainbow’ poster shoot at Hanuru Park in Seoul Sunam Park on September 16. For the shooting of this day on a lively tree-lined street, Cha Yehlin and Lee Jae-yong who co-stars with the two also participated.
Four of them posed as if they were relaxing in the garden, creating a lush atmosphere or looking at each other’s feelings and amplifying their curiosity about the relationship.
In ‘Golden Rainbow’, Yui will show the tug of Jung Il-woo and affection of To-yeong, who plays the role of a white man who leads the seven brothers who are strong and self-centered.
Jung Il Woo is known to have a job as a prosecutor, but also to appear as a person with a liberal and distinct personality.
Cha Yeolyun and Lee Jae-yoon each play the role of the brother-in-law, Cheon Won, Paekwon’s brother, Man Won, and show various stories by continuing the relationship with Baekwon.
‘Golden Rainbow’ will be broadcast on November 2 as a sequel to ‘Scandal: a very shocking and immoral event’, a weekend special program that is currently on air.
