So much has happened in our country this week… I found some solace in creating this special post.
Vincent Van Gogh is one of my favorite painters and his ‘Starry Night” is may favorite painting. Fortunately it is very close to me and I have seen in many times at the MOMA in New York. Today I share my dream of placing Jung Il woo right in that photo. It was not easy choosing the one photo that would go well in it. I wanted him in some sort of action… that would make him look he was strolling in that Starry night. When I saw that image walking (so sexy) out of those glass doors in an Awards show… I thought: perfect! I liked that it was in black and white and both him and the painting would stand out equally…but harmonously.
Here is the image I described above:
This is a quote of Vincent Van Gogh related to his painting of Starry Nights…
“At present I absolutely want to paint a starry sky. It often seems to me that night is still more richly coloured than the day; having hues of the most intense violets, blues and greens. If only you pay attention to it you will see that certain stars are lemon-yellow, others pink or a green, blue and forget-me-not brilliance. And without my expatiating on this theme it is obvious that putting little white dots on the blue-black is not enough to paint a starry sky.”
This is the original painting:
These are others I created with the same structure: my photo composition, a quote from Vincent and his original painting.
“Normality is a paved road: It’s comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it.”
It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.
“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.”
“If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.”
“I try more and more to be myself, caring relatively little whether people approve or disapprove.”
