Can you believe it is almost December! For some of you it already is! Well it looks like it will be a snowy one here in Boston … Sunday-Tuesday all have the snow sign!!!
Well onto Episode 6. If you are wondering where Episode 5 is, well again Ilwoo was barely in it… only commenting. So I was really looking forward to this one!!! And it is probably my favorite so far… we get to see Ilwoo in his element… at a market buying and experiencing new things, driving and singing… and cooking at a camping ground… the food he made there made me think of how good he is as a cook!!! Not a cook a chef! Maybe he’s meant to become a celebrity chef! Traveling the world and sharing his passion for food … especially Korean! He is so talented… creative and has such a nose for it! I think no matter what he does… cooking will always be there…
I decided not to make a video which would then be blocked, but I found a few in YouTube at the KBS Entertain Channel. Here they are:
Eating at a restaurant… or should I say stuffing himself at a restaurant! 🙂
Shopping and discovering food at a market:
Camping and cooking:
And reflecting about his life:
This is so sad… I found out what he said in an article in Naver… HERE in Korean, Google translation below:
‘One restaurant’ Jung Il-woo “When I was 27 years old, I was worried about dying ..”
“I was worried that about when I would die.”
[The fact | Moon, Byung-gon reporter] Actor Jung Il-woo confesses to his experience of fighting a medical condition.
Jung Il-woo recalls what happened when he was 27 years old on KBS2’s ‘New Ite,- Convenience Store Restaurant’.
In a recent shoot, Jung Il-woo went camping with friends to develop a new menu on the theme of ‘our wheat’. Jeong Il-woo, who visited the traditional market before leaving for camping, was proud of his knowledge of various vegetables and ingredients.
Jung Il-woo’s cooking skills were brilliant even at camping sites. he cooked camping dishes such as a soup gochujang kalguksu and chocolate banana. The praise of friends continued.
A pleasant atmosphere followed for a while as they drank. Jung Il-woo then confessed something that shocked the atmosphere. “I was diagnosed with an illness when I was 27,” he began. After he said, “It was a time bomb.” (an Aneurysm) he said.
Jung Il-woo’s confession increased everyone’s interest in what he suffered. In addition, Jung Il-woo, who overcame the shock of the news said he wants to do everything, he wants to enjoy the moment.
“ Popular Restaurant ” is a cooking program in which celebrities compete creating dishes, and the winning menu is released in convenience stores. It is broadcast at 9:45 every Friday night.
Update December 1: Soompi posted an article in English about this! It is HERE.
Oh Ilwoo. I can’t even begin to imagine the shock for one so young to find out of such an unpredictable illness.
This year as a fan and observer I thought at one point that you were doing so many different things that you seemed so dispersed in you goals. Even as one of your story tellers I made the decision to just concentrate on your acting and service projects for posting purposes! At times I found it so hard to keep up! But now I understand. In reality you may have been doing what you said: everything you want to do!
Oh… this makes me want to cry on one hand, but I know better now… Ilwoo… your illness is as much a blessing as it is terrible. I think you know that. It has made you realize the importance of the present moment, something that so many people take for granted. And so it has made you a more spiritual person. You appreciate how precious your life is and thus the life of every person is… therefore you are kinder.
But you must believe way inside in a long life if you are to have one! So do live life, but moderately! You want to concentrate your energy too for those big projects you really want as well. Remember that what is in your head reflects in your life… the other day I read this “Your life is not determined by whatever you achieve or not achieve. Your life is determined by your state of consciousness in the present moment.” (Eckhart Tolle) Words to live by!
When we ask the universe… What is it I am meant to do in this life? It is very different to asking… What do I want to do in my life? It gives space… it aligns your life with GOD’s Universal Energy. When anxiety kicks in remember that there is peace in the stillness of NOW. It is amazing… you let go of thought and immediately you can feel this peaceful soothing. It is hard work to keep one’s thoughts at bay, but with practice it gets easier (like everything… well almost!) And live a balanced life… with a bit of this and a bit of that… you can actually track how much time you are spending doing what… and re-adjust as needed. Or how much time you are thinking what! Listen to your thoughts!!!
Alright… enough… I am going to not think about you now! Ha! Easier said than done!
May god bless you dearest! Cheers for a long healthy and full filled WOOderful life! I’ll be here to write it!
Update November 30… here are some screen shots… he is so adorable!!!
