I went to see Ethan Hawke present his directorial debut movie “Blaze.” It was so great to hear him talk about artists and how he gave the chance to act to his friend. Here is the video:
His movie? It was OK. I felt it was too long for the plot. Half an hour less, would have made it better, as it is so depressing! It was the story of a music artist who almost makes it in the world of entertainment. It made me value the consistency and hardworking person that our Oppa is. I think Jung Il-woo had great luck at the beginning of his career as he landed the part in Unstoppable High Kick that catapulted him to stardom. But then when his popularity went down, he did not give up. It must have been hard… but he stuck it out. This is what sets Jung Il-woo apart, he is hard working and he bears the “slow” times. Then 2011 came with three great dramas that I feel cemented him as a good actor.
I think we have yet to see the best of Jung Il-woo. Can’t wait to see what he does next! And I have my popcorn ready!
