A while ago, while working in the show Convenience Store Restaurant, Jung Il woo travelled to Macau to look for pork inspired dishes. He found a lot more than that… he found a man that prepared an unbelievable coffee. When he tasted it it reminded of sweet Korean cookies called ‘Dalgona’. So he called the coffee Macau Dalgona Coffee. This was the part in the show when he tried it, it was on Episode 10.
And slowly the “Dalgona Coffee’ started to trend in Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok.
Jung Il woo learned to cook with his family. And as an adult he has shared many recipes and cooking moments with his fans. To see some of these moments and some of the related recipes, go HERE.
I translated a video of Jung Il woo making Dalgona coffee into English, so people could hear and understand the man that started this coffee’s trend! It is in YouTube:
Today Ilwoo posted that it even was featured in The Los Angeles Times! To see the article you can go HERE. I also found a fresh article that includes the recipe HERE. Here are a couple of snapshots if you don’t wish to leave the page. Cr. Los Angeles Times:
And I just found it featured in NBC Today’s Show Page. It’s HERE. Though he was not mentioned. Cr. Today
Update: March 21
It is in the PEOPLE magazine Website! Right HERE. Cr. People.

I am so happy for Ilwoo! I hope this brings him more opportunities to showcase the talented, kind and WOOnderful person he is! He deserves every bit of it!
